immark: Mark Message Input Module

Purpose

This module provides the ability to inject periodic “mark” messages to the input of rsyslog. This is useful to allow for verification that the logging system is functioning.

Configuration Parameters

Note

Parameter names are case-insensitive; camelCase is recommended for readability.

Module Parameters

Parameter	Summary
interval	Specifies how often immark injects a mark message, in seconds.
markMessageText	Overrides the text that immark injects for each mark message.
ruleset	Routes mark messages to the named ruleset instead of the default.
use.markFlag	Controls whether emitted mark messages carry the `MARK` flag bit.
use.syslogCall	Chooses whether immark logs via syslog(3) or its internal pipeline.
